What Are You Thankful For?
Can you believe Thanksgiving is next Thursday? For those of you that are less familiar with Thanksgiving, here is a little back story. The event that Americans commonly call the "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated by some of the first colonists to give thanks to God for guiding them safely to the New World. The first Thanksgiving feast lasted three days - can you imagine planning to cook that much food for three days?! The New England colonists were accustomed to regularly celebrating "thanksgivings"—days of prayer thanking God for blessings such as military victory or the end of a drought.
My question for all of you is, what are you most thankful for? Comment on my post below and share with everyone the things you are thankful for. To show my appreciation to all of you for sharing your thoughts with me, I'll randomly select 3 responders who will receive our Shabby Fabrics Exclusive Bountiful Harvest Table Runner and Bountiful Harvest Wall Hanging patterns. We also have kits available for both the table runner and the wallhanging.
Warm Regards,
Jen
I am thankful for the privilege of caring for my Mom, who has dementia, she turns 90 on Friday. I am thankful for my husband who is so supportive, despite us now living in a place where jobs in his field are not found, but he agreed to the move anyway. I am thankful for how God cares for our needs - we are so blessed.

ReplyDeleteI am thankful to have my grown children making a life for themselves. They are both finishing school and work and support themselves. My son has tourettes so I am so proud of him. Life has been challenging for him. My daughter lived in a home where the goal was to help the child with tourettes and she developed a love to help people. Now she works at the veterans hospital. I consider myself blessed to have my kids nearby and that they are striving to do well in these difficult times. Thank you for the chance to win. I always admire your patterns.

I am thankful for my husband who is patient and kind despite all the crazy things I do like signing up to help organize a group to sew 650 stockings for a local non-profit. He is patient despite fabric overflowing in my sewing room and the desk being covered with stocking templates and more fabric. I am so thankful he has been mine for over 26 years! The patterns are beautiful by the way. K-
ReplyDeleteI am thankful that my year long stuggle to loose weight is nearly coming to an end.
ReplyDeleteMy family is at the top of my list but I'm also grateful for my home. I grew up in a military family which meant frequent moves. I never felt as if I really belonged anywhere. Now I have the roots in a community that I always wanted.
ReplyDeleteWe've experienced a very challenging year with my husband's health and I'm very thankful that he's getting better. I equally thankful for my daughter and her family who have been here for us unconditionally.
ReplyDeleteI am so very thankful for my healthy and happy family-- my amazing and supportive husband, my two incredibly energetic little boys, and all four of our cuddly (and one not-so-cuddly) cats. Every day is truly a blessing! :)
ReplyDeleteI am most thankful for my family - we have recently experienced a tragedy which has brought us closer to each other and we realize how important we are for one another.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for my family. For my two girls and for my angel watching over us from above. Most of all my husband who continues to love and support us each and every day.
ReplyDeleteI have so much to be thankful for. A wonderful family and husband, a job, being close to all my grandchildren, still having my mother in my life, and my grandson with Alexander's disease is still doing well. There is much more, but I will end it for now.
ReplyDeleteI am very thankful that my two children have reached adulthood and are still alive ... things could have gone either way at one time for both of them. And I am thankful to have discovered quilting, a great boon to my sanity.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for all the blessings which surround me. And I just bought a house which I love! Thank you Universe!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for all the special lessons I have learned..that God watches over all and that the most important things in life are not things--but your family and friends and the beauty all around us. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

ReplyDeleteThere is just so much to be thankful for! First I'm thankful that I'm a Christian and that the Lord loved me enough to save me. I've been given the best family ever! My husband is the best dad for our crew here! He helped homeschool for 17 years; I couldn't have managed without him. Now we are closing in on our retirement years, and it will be great to have him around all the time! I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and your Christmas season will be blessed.
